THOMAS F. DIVINE AWARD



Named for one of the founding fathers of the Association for Social Economics, the Thomas F. Divine Award is presented annually to an Association member who over a lifetime has made important contributions to social economics and the social economy. A $1,000 cash stipend is included. The Award is formally presented by the Association at its annual meetings.



The Award was presented for the first time in 1986 to William Waters of DePaul University. Since then recipients are:

HELEN POTTER AWARD



The Helen Potter Award was created and endowed in 1975. It is presented each year to the author of the best article in the Review of Social Economy by a promising scholar of social economics. Award recipients receive a plaque and a $500 prize.  Past recipients are:

SPRINGER BEST PAPER AWARD

Annually the Editor-in-Chief will select the best paper submitted to the Forum for Social Economics, and the author of that article is granted the “Springer Best Paper Award” and a financial contribution of US $500.

The 2009 recipient is Charles J. Whalen of Cornell University for his article "Toward Post-Keynesian Institutionalism and the Creative State 'Wisely Managed' Capitalism" in Volumn 37, 2008, issue of the Forum for Social Economics.
